INTRODUCTION


Marfan syndrome was first described by Antoine-Bernard Marfan in 1896 who reported the case of a girl with a state system that is not the usual muskuloskletal normal people. While describing abnormalities in ocular system is Burger in 1914. After analyzing over 50 years for symptoms of clinical and genetic disorder Marfan syndrome, Victor Mc Kusick finally describe this disorder as a congenital disorder in which connective tissue is derived.

 The incidence of Marfan syndrome in the United States, according to some studies is 1: 5000, 2-3 per 10,000 population, or 1: 9800. An estimated 200,000 Americans suffer from Marfan syndrome. This disease is not related to a particular ethnicity or gender, but very easily derived from parent to anak.Angka mortality in Marfan syndrome primarily caused by cardiovascular disorders. 1, 2
 One or more of the following conditions can be found in disorders such as Marfan syndrome, a high degree of refraction, corneal curvature, flat, lens dislocation, cataract onset is earlier, glaucoma, retinal ablatio, and strabismus. Most of them are also high myopia and Astigmatism, approximately 65% had lens dislocation, and approximately 35% will have glaucoma. Although it has many body systems disorders, but pasein with Marfan syndrome have brain development and normal intelligence level. 2
